Clutch Issues
If gear changes are difficult and notchy and the Sierra pedal box has been used, then changing the clutch quadrant can often improve this. There are several different size quadrants that will change how far the clutch disengages from the flywheel. The quadrants range in size: 40, 45, 50 and 55 mm and are often colour coded depending on brand: black, white, yellow and red.
If a standard Sierra clutch cable is used and is routed through the exhaust manifold down to the bell housing, then heat can damage the cable. To overcome this a clutch cable for a Sierra 2.0i Cosworth (Exc 4x4) (1985-93) can be used, this is much longer and can be routed away from the exhaust manifold.
