Interior & Controls

In the simplest form, 2B kits were built to use the donor Sierra pedal box, instrument panel , handbrake lever, steering column and switchgear. Many cars have subsequently been upgraded with aftermarket gauges and padded dashboards to meet SVA/IVA requirements. Pedal boxes are often replaced by aftermarket top hung or floor mounted versions, particularly when used with alternative engines with hydraulic clutch actuation in place of the Sierra cable arrangement.

A regular option supplied with kits from Robin Hood was a set of new old stock Vectra ‘Recaro’ front seats that fitted well into the space available, but look rather out of place in an open kit car due to the bulky shape and velour fabric. Most cars have migrated to alternative donor seats or dedicated aftermarket kit car options.
